The starter saga finally came to an end on Friday afternoon. Kevin from Cairns Automarine Electrics came out to the boat after I fitted the starter relay and still had the same problem. He went through everything and was scratching his head for some time. He tested the ignition switch for a second time and discovered a wire that is not normally there and we could not think of why any wire would be connected to the start circuit unless it was a remote start switch. As a trial he discovered the wire and the problem was gone.Unsure what the wire was for he taped it up and left it for me to trace back to the source at a later time. We quickly got ready and headed for Double Island to spend the night at anchor.
